Table summarizing position of IR bands in the IR spectrum and assignation to chemical groups.

Summary of IR bands identified in the IR spectrum of samples 2. Assignment of chemical groups found in the IR absorption spectrum of the material contained in the mortar. IR spectrum has been acquired using a FTIR spectroscope. The IR spectrum of the sample has been compared with these others acquired from reference materials enabling accurate identification of the material contained in the vessel.
